While we teach all of the universally mandated academic subjects, we place special emphasis on the areas of language arts, mathematics, science, and computer science.

Lotus students are provided with abundant opportunities to explore, question, observe, and test their knowledge. There is a great deal of individualized attention and small group activity.

In addition we have classes that are unique to the school that teach the children about their identity, their history, and their relationship to the world of which they are a part. These classes are what we refer to as the "Lotus Way", and they are an essential part of our curriculum.

Along with academic excellence and an inspiring African-centered curriculum, one of the central aspects of the Lotus Academy program is character development.

Good manners, maturity, self-respect, concern for others, positive outlook, and self-discipline are impressed upon the children directly and by way of example. It is our view that good character fosters success.
