Lotus Academy's mission is to provide its students with an academic program that will ensure a solid foundation of learning skills while guiding and directing them to be innovative and independent thinkers.

Our students benefit from high standards and expectations, small class size, and being taught in a caring and nurturing environment that always conveys to each of them their personal value and worth in our learning community.

While the school teaches all of the universally mandated academic subjects, we place special emphasis on the areas of language arts, mathematics, science, and computer science. In addition we have classes that are unique to the Lotus Academy that teach the children about their identity, their history, and their relationship to the world of which they are a part.

Along with academic excellence and an inspiring African-centered curriculum, one of the central aspects of the Lotus Academy program is character development. Good manners, maturity, self-respect, concern for others, positive outlook, and self-discipline are impressed upon the children directly and by way of example. It is our view that good character fosters success.
